Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is the official student governing body of all undergraduate students attending Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University. The purpose of the Student Government Association is to stimulate and develop democracy amongst students as well as provide a path of communication to promote student interest.

The SGA represents the Student Body to:

  • Other Organizations
  • Alumni
  • Faculty
  • Staff
  • Administration

Goals & Responsibilities

AAMU provides a variety of opportunities for students to gain experience in self-government.

To ensure our purpose, the SGA takes on the following responsibilities:

  • Empower individuals to serve and to inspire others for the betterment of the community.
  • Create a welcoming environment that celebrates individual differences within a context mutual respect.
  • Challenge individuals to uphold shared expectations and recognize how their decisions impact others.

SGA Executive Board

  • President

    Onyebuchi Jessica Egwu is an Honors Biology major from Atlanta, Georgia currently serving as the 76th SGA Executive President. She has been actively involved in student leadership since her freshman year. 

    In addition to SGA, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Ward Modeling Troupe, Inc.
