Our mission

Our mission in the Office of Admissions is to recruit, admit, and serve a diverse student population through regional, national, and international efforts. We work hard to make sure students get quality education while also receiving a fulfilling college experience.  That’s why our admissions process includes a systematic evaluation of student credentials. 

Our evaluation of prospective students is conducted efficiently and with integrity. 

The admissions staff works collaboratively with various departments across the campus to ensure enrollment success in alignment with the university’s goals of high academics and student-centered standards.  We also work to position our students for success in and outside of the classroom.  Some departments that are essential in meeting these goals include The Freshman Academy, the Tutorial Assistance Network, and the Alabama A&M Honors Center. 

AAMU’s co-educational student body is racially, ethnically and religiously varied.  We have faculty from around the world.  And our state-of-the-art facilities foster living and learning environments, programs, and resources that help students make the most of their educational and professional experiences. Likewise, there are over 100 student organizations in which students have opportunities to hone their skills.
