Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Alabama A&M University has provided much information to assist the AAMU Family in receiving answers to COVID-19-related questions.  For answers and guidance in one, central location, please visit COVID-19 GUIDANCE.

Background

Effective August 4, 2021, Alabama A&M University began requiring all individuals to wear face coverings. Individuals should wear either masks, gaiters, or face shields with masks in public areas on campus and the Bulldog Transit System (BTS).   This requirement applies to all students, faculty, staff, vendors, and campus visitors, regardless of vaccination status. The mask requirement is based on the latest guidance from the CDC, the Alabama Department of Public Health, and medical consultants to the university.

Alabama A&M University continues to monitor the latest developments of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), as well as its Delta and Omicron variants.  In addition to this website, check for direct student e-mails and faculty-staff direct e-mails pertaining to spring 2022.  The health, safety, and well-being of our community, on and off campus, is our top priority, and future updates will be aligned with the latest guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Alabama Department of Public Health.  Some more immediate updates may also be available via local media, Student Health, Public Relations, AAMU's own WJAB-FM 90.9 radio station and/or the Department of Public Safety.  See "UPDATES" below.

This webpage will serve as the university’s central source of updates and information about COVID-19.
