Alabama A&M University will welcome award-winning actor and R&B artist Jacob Latimore as the headliner for the Bulldog Welcome Bash, part of the DTLR 2025 HBCU Welcome Back Tour. The free concert will take place Friday, September 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on The Quad, marking the high-energy finale to the Bulldog Welcome Experience.

Latimore, hailed by Variety, The Los Angeles Times, and The Wrap as a breakout star, has built an impressive career on both stage and screen. A Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree, Latimore is best known for his lead role as Emmett Washington in Showtime’s hit series “The Chi” and for standout performances in films such as “The Maze Runner,” “Sleight,” “Collateral Beauty,” and the 2023 “House Party” remake produced by LeBron James.

Alongside his acting success, Latimore continues to shine as a recording artist. His third album, “C3,” debuted at #1 on Apple’s R&B Music Chart in 2023 and has surpassed 100 million streams. Influenced by his family's musical legacy, his father and uncles were in the R&B/gospel group The Latimore Brothers, the Milwaukee-born artist has captivated audiences with his smooth vocals and commanding stage presence.

The Bulldog Welcome Bash will also feature fellow headliner and Southern Soul sensation Mike Clark Jr,. with rising stars Zeddy Will, Jaxs, and Austin Rogers adding to the night’s excitement. Giveaways, activations, and interactive experiences will round out the celebration.

Since 2001, lifestyle retailer DTLR has brought its HBCU Welcome Back Tour to campuses nationwide, combining music, culture and community engagement to ensure students feel supported and celebrated as they begin a new semester. 

The Bulldog Welcome Bash is open to all Alabama A&M students, and members of the community are welcome to join the celebration.
