AAMU Recognizes Over 3,000 Students at Honors Day Convocation
As Alabama A&M University continues its 150 Anniversary Celebration, the University held its Annual Honors Day Convocation recognizing academic achievement for the 2024-25 academic year.
Presidential Medallions were awarded to students maintaining a 3.7 or higher grade point average with at least 12 semester hours per semester. A total of 3,099 students were recognized with honors including Presidential Medallions (Gold, Silver and Bronze), Freshman President’s Awards, Deans List, Freshman Dean’s List and Honor Roll.
The highest individual award any undergraduate student can receive is the Outstanding Scholar Award. Each academic college and the Department of Athletics selects one undergraduate scholar. Students receiving this year's Outstanding Scholar Award include:
Emille White – College of Agricultural, Life, and Natural Sciences
Nachaka Lizubuho – College of Business & Public Affairs
Zia George – College of Education, Humanities, & Behavioral Sciences
Jarrett Davis – College of Engineering, Technology & Physical Sciences
Keyara Brooks – Department of Athletics
Khalea Avery received the AAMU Alumni Association Senior Award for having the highest cumulative grade point average for a graduating senior.
Special recognition was also given to Honors Program Scholars and the University's 2024 AAMU Honda Campus All-Star Challenge (HCASC) team members
who recently advanced to the HCASC National Championship Tournament April 12-16 in
Los Angeles.
